Linux Project Generator is a tool that can be used to quickly generate an autogen-based, Moblin compliant template project in C, C++, or Python. It has a growing set of sample code that can be selected and included. See the feature list below.

Linux Project Generator (projgen) is itself autogen-based, written in C++, and generates a library (libprojgen) and application (projgen). The library exposes a simple C interface that expects all the project information. The application has support for a console version and GTK UI (uses glade).It is licensed as LGPL.

Moblin Image Creator 2 (MIC2) can create full-featured images of the Moblin v2 software stack. Image types can be ISO (CD or USB installable), KVM, or VMWare.

Moblin Image Creator 2 (MIC2) is a tool for creating and manipulating Moblin images. MIC2 is a series of utilities that create customized images and provides an easy-to-use development environment for the Moblin distribution. MIC2 is NOT based on MIC 1.0 and is a completely new tool primarily based on Fedora LIVE CD tools and other open source projects

Currently MIC2 is command line only. A GUI version is underway and still in the early stages of development.

Features

MIC2 supports the following features:

• moblin-image-convertoer for image transformation
• moblin-chroot for generating chroot environment from image and vice vera

• Fedora (Fedora 9 and above)
• Opensuse (> OpenSUSE 10.3)
• Ubuntu (Ubuntu 8.10. MIC2 is not supported on Ubuntu 8.04 due to incompatible yum versions)

• Supports various types of images:
  • Live CD

  • Loop images
  • KVM images
  • VMDK (Vmware)

Uses the kickstart configuration format for image configuration. Using this simple format, you can specify which software repositories to use, and which packages to install and configure the system, using basic built-in and Moblin specific system configuration directives.

Re: Holy crap! Moblin Beta 2 is looking good!

So, I was interested in seeing if this would run on my Core2 Quad desktop. Grub4DOS can fire up the IMG file's bootloader, but that's it. Just like ISOs, it doesn't seem to get any further than the kernel and initrd.

It runs in VirtualBox, though quite slow. I had to enable PAE/NX on the General/Advanced settings tab just to get it going.
